families at christmas
Many individuals and families in our community are still struggling through tough economic times. So much so that the thought of Christmas is downright depressing. We hope to change that, at least for a few families in our community, by continuing our Families at Christmas project. In its present form this will be the seventh year we have had this project. Last year we were able to brighten Christmas for many local families.
The Families at Christmas project is a favorite here at Skyline and the spirit of Christmas blooms in all your hearts as you give to this worthy cause. Donations can be made by cash, or checks made out to Skyline Presbyterian Church, and both should be designated to "Families at Christmas" or simply "Families". Donations can be placed in the offering plate or in the secure drop box located on the church office door. You also have the option of going to the church's website and making an online donation with your check or credit card. We will be accepting donations through Sunday, Dec. 14th.
As in the past we will be seeking recommendations from the congregation to identify individuals and families in our church and nearby community. Please pass this information on to Pastor Robyn, any member of the E&M committee or by contacting the church office. We will also work with local aid organizations to identify other qualified families. As is often the case each individual or family we seek to help has differing needs so the support/gift is in the form of a gift card of a major chain store. The card can be used for a variety of needs such as clothing, food, other essentials, or maybe even a toy or two. We will begin distributing the gift cards two weeks prior to Christmas.
Please consider adding "Families at Christmas" to your Christmas giving list .... perhaps you have friends or other family member who would consider donating?
Thanks and God Bless!
